Safety
- Ensure that safety is an ever-present concern in activities and associated equipment.
- Ensure that qualified individuals are always nearby in case of an emergency.
Personnel
- Provide resident camp personnel with a minimum of 60 hours of training, and day camp staff with 50 hours of training.
- Hire qualified lifeguards to oversee all swimming activities.
Programming
- Offer programs appropriate to participants ages and abilities that are fun, challenging, and encourage learning and success.
The location and environnent
- Monitor and control the quality of drinking water, as well as water in bathing/swimming areas.
- Offer healthful, well-balanced menus approved by a dietician.
